We were walking through a bayou, a child version of myself and two girls. We had been discussing how they managed to survive in the wild for so long and the new incoming storm which threatened their survival. As we talked they shared some of their rations with me. Eventually we came across an opening amongst the trees, leading into a gently flowing river which was feeding the bayou.’
We stepped into the river, joined by one of my brothers, who revealed to us that the river was some kind of attraction, based around the life of a bullied girl from a local high school. Among other things which I cannot remember, the wilting flowers a representation of her dying love life. At one point there used to be a blood section of the river, but the school had to remove it for insensitivity.
While walking through the river and nearing the end I pick up my phone, receiving a video call from one of my sisters. I enter the gift shop at the end of the river, which is full of completely unrelated items like exotic plants and fossils, I run around showing her all the cool items I want. My brother reminds me that our mom told us we couldn’t get anything, and we had to get going, as the storm was nearing us.
Outside the giftshop poking out of the river there was a very pretty bamboo-esque plant. It’s stalks were around a foot in diameter, with massive beautiful swiss cheese-like leaves and gorgeous vibrant red trumpet lily flowers.
We finally all funnel back into the car which we arrived in and begin to drive up a mountain. My mother, who is not my mother but some other woman I do not recognize, turns around to look at us and says “Finally, leaving just when I wanted to, 44 minutes late!”
