My mother, father, a brother, a sister, her boyfriend, and myself had gotten together to rob one of my other sisters’ house. We knew my sister and her family were not home at the time, so it was perfect. Each of us, decked out in full SWAT gear, swept rooms shouting “CLEAR!” as we progressed through the house.

We had come there to rob my sister of a gold nugget and a USB which contained valuable ancestral information regarding my family. We had just finished securing both items when the sister whom we were currently robbing pulled into the driveway. With both items in hand I immediately began a dash for the back exit of the home—where my other sister and her boyfriend awaited us in the getaway vehicle—but in the process abandoned the rest of my family.

It was too late, though. My sister had preemptively began driving away without any of us. I stood there, in the exit doorway, watching in awe as the getaway got away.
