I was sat on the couch, watching the television with my family, when strange lights began flickering through the kitchen window and even weirder noises echoed from outside. My dad got up, deciding to investigate it, leaving through the foyer. Our cat, exclusively an inside cat, slipped through the door, leading me to follow behind to catch him.
As I walked outside the cat sat still, staring at my father who turned back to look at me. His face lacked any visible facial details, it simply curved inwards on itself, seemingly endlessly, wrinkling as it went further in. I quickly grabbed the cat and went back inside, and as I exited the foyer entering into the living room everyone looked up at me.
Each of them were the same, just like my father. And in the middle of the room floated a creature, one made of incomprehensibility. It had no physical form, but its shape was clearly defined by the light which passed its body, warping and twisting around to create an ever-collapsing spheroid.
Even as I stood there and watched in awe and horror my cat looked up at me from my arms and meowed softly, its face too was now the same as all the others. I was going to be next.
